After 4 long years, the Texas Ski Council is heading back to Telluride, CO!

Experience world-class skiing at Telluride, CO ski resort!  Telluride has had the distinction of being voted North America’s #1 Ski resort for multiple years by Conde Nast Traveler and was Ski Magazine Editor’s Choice in 2021.  Join the Texas Ski Council clubs as we venture to Telluride, CO Feb 5-12, 2022.

Telluride offers a unique experience marked with unmatched scenery, heritage, and charm. It is a place of legend, nestled at the end of a box canyon, and surrounded by some of Colorado’s most rugged 13,000 – and 14,000- foot peaks.

FACTS:

Telluride prides itself with no lift lines, uncrowded slopes with incredible alpine skiing, comfortable lodging with ski in/ski out options, and outstanding dining experiences both on mountain and in the town.  Telluride is home to the highest concentration of 13,000- and 14,000-foot peaks in North America

The mountain has over 2,000 skiable acres with exceptional terrain for all levels and abilities. On average Telluride receives over 300 inches of snow each winter season.  Beginners can get an expert’s-eye view from the top of the mountain while cruising down green groomers, intermediates will carve up the middle of the mountain and advanced skiers enjoy some of the most renowned slopes in the country.  The resort has approximately 23% beginner and 36% intermediate runs. The remaining 41% are at the top of the resort featuring expert and advanced terrain.

No matter what your ability is, you will be surrounded by the awe inspiring, 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains and Rocky Mountains.

Lodging Information:

The Clubs are staying in 3 locations.  Austin Ski Club and Los Amigos are staying at Mountain Lodge Telluride.  Clear Lake Area Ski Club, Club St. Bernard, and Space City are staying at Bear Creek Lodge with Lone Star Skiers staying at the Cimmarron/Double Diamond Condos. The complimentary ski shuttle also makes getting to the slopes a breeze.  Bear Creek uses a Funicular to whisk you up to the lift lines while Mountain Lodge and Cimmarron are ski-in, ski-out.  Please click on the Lodging links for more detailed amenities information about each lodge.

Restaurant / Downtown Information:

Colorful Victorian-era homes, clapboard storefronts and historic buildings mix with boutiques, art galleries, gourmet restaurants and more in town of Telluride. Mountain Village, located above Telluride, is modernized with European-style architecture, modern amenities, ski-in/ski-out hotels and sweeping views of the surrounding peaks. The two towns are connected by a free, scenic gondola—the only transportation system of its kind in North America. The 13-minute ride is a daily event for residents and visitors alike.  Starting at 8,750 feet in Telluride the gondola climbs 1,790 vertical feet before reaching Station St. Sophia at 10,540 feet.

Other activities at Telluride include Snowshoeing, Sledding, Heli-Skiing, Nordic Skiing, fat tire biking and of course, multiple spas to work out those kinks after an awesome day on the slopes!
